How long is the application process?
Once an agency submits all the appropriate documents-IRS 501c3 and Articles of Incorporation-the Agency Relations Department calls to set up a monitoring visit. If an agency does not have all the documentation, naturally the application process will be longer.
What is a monitoring visit?
As an affiliate of Feeding America San Diego(FASD) is required to monitor all partner agencies at least once every two years. The purpose of the monitoring visit is to:
• Learn more about our partner agencies and determine how the Feeding America San Diego can serve them best.
• Verify that our partner agencies are storing and distributing food safely and in accordance to the requirements outlined in the Agency Agreement.

How do I know if my agency was approved?
After an agency is monitored, the Agency Relations Department will send a letter informing the agency if they were approved or not.
When can my agency begin to shop?
Once the allotted four shoppers, listed on the Agency Application, have attended Orientation, you may beginning to shop. You must attend orientation prior to shopping.

Orientations are held once a month at the Feeding America San Diego Warehouse:

What is a FASD Membership ID?
A membership ID is used to track shoppers and keep track of who is coming through our warehouse. It is also used for an agency to know their agency number.
Can someone else use my Membership ID?
It is a violation to allow some else to use your membership ID. Agencies risk placing themselves on probation. So please so not do it!
Where does our food come from?
The majority of food found in our warehouse is primarily from Feeding America National Donors and California Association of Food Banks.
What are FASD's warehouse hours?
Hours of Operation 8 am-12 pm Monday-Friday
Afternoons by appointment ONLY (Please call Victor at 858-334-5724 to schedule)
The marketplace will now only be stocked with salvage items, loose case items, and produce. This is the only area that agencies may now shop. Cased items will be available through Pre Order ONLY.

Orders can be schduled through Agency Express Online Ordering.
Can an agency bring a friend or family member to shop in the warehouse?
No! An agency may not bring a friend or family member, children or pets to shop in the warehouse. This can be dangerous if a non shopper is unfamiliar with our rules and regulations and facility. Safety first folks!
