Hold a Fund/Food Drive
The most effective way to support Feeding America San Diego in alleviating hunger is by organizing a Fund Drive. For every $1 raised, we can provide 8 meals to hungry families throughout San Diego. Thanks to our local and national partnerships, that same $1 allows us to purchase 10 pounds of food valued at nearly $15. You can organize a Fund Drive any time of year at your place of business, your school or organization, or your congregation and have a direct impact on those in need in our community. Three good reasons for you to consider hosting a food drive:
- Local food drives are a bridge between hunger and hope; it's a personal way to become part of the solution to hunger.
- Local food drives provide a broader variety of food; canned meats, soups and fruits and vegetables are difficult to obtain in bulk.
- Most importantly, local food drives speak louder about hunger than any website could; they remind us to continue the fight against hunger.
