Helping Families Help Themselves
San Diego's CalFresh participation is one of the lowest in the country. Feeding America San Diego has implemented a comprehensive outreach program to increase the number of eligible families applying for and receiving assistance.
Direct Client Services
Are you eligible for CalFresh? FASD can pre-screen you, help with the application, and submit it to the county. We serve as the client advocate throughout the entire process. More information.
FASD also conducts CalFresh Outreach and Direct Client Services on the Mobile Pantry route in rural San Diego and North County, providing services to underserved areas.
Our CalFresh Program is actively recruiting and training partner agencies to offer CalFresh services to their clients. Participating agencies receive personal training to pre-screen for eligibility and provide application assistance.
FASD believes that partner agencies are in the best position to help clients with CalFresh because of the close relationship and frequent contact with their clients. If interested, FASD will lead mobile trainings, conduct outreach with your team, provide materials, develop and manage logistical challenges, and support you throughout the process. In addition, FASD will submit all applications to the county and will advocate on behalf of your clients. For more information, contact Jenny Seneor at 858.452.3663 x109.
