With San Diego's CalFresh participation the lowest in the country, Feeding America San Diego has implemented a comprehensive strategy to increase the number of eligible families applying for and receiving assistance.

Direct Client Services/Apply for CalFresh Benefits
Are you interested in finding out if you are eligible for CalFresh and applying? FASD can pre-screen you, help you with the application, and submit it to the county. We also will be your advocate along the whole way, making sure to solve any problems and help you receive any qualified benefits. SEE IF YOU QUALIFY FOR CALFRESH BENEFITS
FASD also conducts CalFresh Outreach and Direct Client Services on the Mobile Pantry route in rural San Diego and North County, providing services to these under-served areas of San Diego.
Agency Program
FASD’s CalFresh Program is actively recruiting and training partner agencies so they themselves can provide CalFresh services to their clients. Through FASD’s CalFresh Program, partner agencies will receive personal training and support so they can begin helping clients with pre-screening for eligibility, application assistance, and general information and support.
FASD believes that partner agencies are in the best position to help clients with CalFresh because of the relationship and contact that agencies already have with their clients. If interested, FASD will come to your site to do mobile trainings, do outreach along your side, provide you materials, develop and manage logistical challenges, and be a constant support throughout your CalFresh Outreach. In addition, FASD will submit all applications to the county and will be the advocate for your clients through the county process. Please contact Jenny Seneor at 858-452-3663.
