Produce Program
Feeding America San Diego distributes fresh fruits and vegetables donated by the produce industry, Feeding America, Arizona Statewide Gleaning Project, and the California Association of Food Bank’s Farm to Family program.
This year, Feeding America San Diego will distribute more than 3 million pounds of fresh produce throughout San Diego County. We obtain, transport, provide, and often deliver fresh produce to our network of non-profit agencies. We feel that fresh produce is vital to a healthy community.
With obesity, malnutrition, and type-2 diabetes nearing epidemic proportions in America, we have made distributing fresh produce our number one priority next to our daily mission of providing emergency food to those most in need in San Diego County.
